Last week, there were two major tech news events that may just end up changing the world. The first event was on Wednesday, January 18th, when Google, Wikipedia, and countless other major websites had intentional “blackouts”, or at least partial blackouts, in protest against two piece of legislation that were before the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate, the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA), respectively. The second event was on Thursday, January 19th, when Apple held a special press event focused on education at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City where Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, laid out how Apple is going to revolutionize education.
